Description

Please Read: No Original Apex deck is the same. Unlike a lot of longboards in the market, each Original Apex deck is individually pressed, hand made, one at a time. Like fingerprints and snowflakes, each board has its own identity. Apex Technology employs our custom carbon fiber/fiberglass technology which has some level of texture or “grain” as we call it. The amount of grain in these boards is directly related to this type of board- more complex concave decks require greater pressure and strain to create- and as a result those boards generally show more “grain” when finished. Rest assured that the board you receive is 100% durable, 100% reliable and 100% Original.

Want. Need. Slide.

Change the way you ride. From freestyle to freeride, cruising/carving, and light downhill, the new Apex 40 DiamondDrop pushes the possibilities the moment your feet hit dat drop. With a new wider standing platform, more concave, added wheel wells, + deleted gas pedals, the reinvented Apex is your upgraded go-to.

Its All YOU

Add your own customized touch. Upgrade to Cell Primes + RDVX Griptape.

All YOUR Riding Needs.

The Apex 40 DiamondDrop longboard skateboards’ bread and butter is freestyle and freeride, but that comfy drop locks you in and keeps you low to the ground for campus cruising, slide perfection, and light downhill bombing here or there. Beginner-to-advanced, the only thing the Apex DiamondDrop is missing is YOU.

Learning to Ride + Cruising/Carving

Whether you’re a beginner learning to ride or just want to cruise / carve, the possibilities are endless. Due to its low to the ground posture and compatibility with Original Trucks, riders can learn how to turn more easily, push more easily, coast further, and keep that tight turn radius for smooth carves.

Pocket Change.

Dip your toe into the deep end. With upgraded deeper pockets, the DD locks you in for any slide you throw at it. Slide every which way with a diamond under the soles of your shoes. Versatility, ease of slide initiation, and that drop help to perfect your slide game. Enhance your slide experience with the Apex 40 DiamondDrop.

Unlimited MPG

Low to the ground to allow more comfortable stance while pushing. The DiamondDrop’s pockets let you know where your feet are, so the only thing you have to worry about is traffic. Pair the Apex with S8 Original Trucks, for a tight turn radius and an even lower pushing platform that allows you to drop a curb, whip around your neighbor’s dog, or navigate through traffic. Work hard. Cruise further.

Bread + Butter

The deeper concave of the new Apex 40 DiamondDrop gives you more control over your slides, while the expanded EFP lets you stand closer to your trucks for more leverage and easier slide rotation. Bigger riders + those with a wider stance rejoice, the Apex 40 is wider (in all directions) to accommodate your needs. Technical slides + fast freerides, this is your bread and butter.

That Sweet Spot

Pop higher. Catch higher. Stomp your hardest tricks with confidence thanks to the freestyle focused engineering of the Apex 40 DiamondDrop. Creating a deck that pushes the freestyle envelope takes more than just adding a kick. It takes more than boosting durability or adding noseguards. The DiamondDrop evolved from a team focus on the things that haven’t been done yet, so that you can do the things you never imagined. Find that sweet spot.

Hot Newness

Wider platform, added wheel wells, + a deeper concave. The Apex 40 stands the test of ride.

Re-Engineered Versatility.

Inspiration starts with the concept, design, engineering, and execution, but inspired versatility begins again with the way you ride. Say hello to the Apex 40 DiamondDrop’s deeper diamond bowl concave, lightweight design, and fully functional trick popping tails. Happy Riding.

Understated Durability.

Stiff quad axial fiberglass, reinforced carbon fiber in-lays, and patented PK noseguards mean stronger versatility for your best all-in-one quiver killer. Daydream no more. You need to see a DiamondDrop in the flesh.

Symmetrical Simplicity.

Symmetrical for a reason. Whether it be nollies, fakie tre flips, or switch no complys, either end of the Apex 40 DiamondDrop provides the same massive pop and performance.

Breakfast Time.

The deeper cereal bowl concave on the re-invented DiamondDrop does more than just keep you locked in. With continuous concave throughout the drops, your feet will always have a point-of-reference providing consistency through slides, an enormous sweet spot to catch tricks, and comfort while cruising. Quench your thirst for concave. It’s breakfast time.

Suit up.

Beginner to advanced, cruising to sliding, and everything in between, the Apex 40 DiamondDrop is shred ready.

    **5 Star Board**

I’m writing this review on the older model of the Apex 40 Diamond Drop (V1). I was able to pick one up from the warehouse sale. There was an initial glitch with the new website design so long story short I got a free t-shirt with the deck.

I’ve ridden this board once due to a lot of snow but I will say this; the board is awesome! I mostly cruise around, and it’s super nice because it’s low to the ground. I was able to easily push 2 miles while feeling comfortable the entire time. I even threw in a couple of cross-steps without feeling cramped by the drops in the board.

When the snow melts, I’ll venture into freestyle which I’m sure the board will be fantastic at as well. I got the PK nose guards and I’m confident they will work wonders. I’ll do an updated review once I’ve gotten a chance to ride it more and learn some freestyle tricks.

  2. Rated 5 out of 5

I got this deck not to long ago and I already love it. I thought the board would be to flexy under my weight but it actually performs amazingly. It also seems to have a perfect amount of flex for anyone who stands on it. Very controllable and predictable flex. It is also a very comfortable board to ride with its concave not being to steep and sharp. This is a massive upgrade over my last board. I would strongly recommend this board to any one. By far one of the best boards I have ever ridden.

  3. Rated 5 out of 5

This board is awesome. The shape is simple but good, she hand your feet so nicely. The flex of the board is super nice. You feel great about it. It is light but at the same time you can get what you want with it. One can do tricks, or even slide with. To walk around town she responds well.
I am happy with this board, and the person who helped me with my order (Ashley) was very kind and attentive to my needs. I am enjoying this board so much.

  4. Rated 5 out of 5

As a long time rider of the apex, more importantly a rider for original, I have found that the apex has been the most reliable board I have ever ridden. I have taken longbaording to more of a skateboard angle with fliptricks off gaps as well as manuals, and this longboard doesnt seem to burden any of my tricks despite its 40 inch size. Being 6 feet tall, and 170 pounds, this board has catered perfectly to my needs. Whether it would come down to a freeride session at the local hill, or a filming session at a hefty gap involved, this board does not disappoint. If you’re not already riding an apex, go check it out. It’s really something special

  5. Rated 5 out of 5

The Apex 40 is a stable board to learn fun freeride/freestyle combos. The kicktails pop a mean ollie at the top of the hill and are good for kickflips and pop shuvits. If you want to be locked in for fast slide rotations, get the Apex 40 DiamondDrop Concave. The Apex 40 is a thin, mean free ride machine.

  6. Rated 5 out of 5

As a longtime rider for Original, I have gotten to test out nearly every board that they have to offer. Every board has had its own unique flare, but the Apex is something different. Through the entirety of my skating I was convinced that I had to switch my setup every time I wanted to skate something different, like transitioning from freeride to street skating. However, this board has done an excellent job by bridging the gap between freeride as well as freestyle!

All of my recent videos have been on this board, and I have been riding the apex for about 5 years now. You will not regret this purchase, so for sure check it out if you have the money. Though a little expensive, it will for sure be worth your while.

  7. Rated 5 out of 5

One of the boards that pioneered my skateboarding career. Being so versatile, I was able to learn how to freestyle and freeride at the same time. Since I had been just learning when I picked up this board, I was cruising from point A to B often and I cant say I’ve ridden a more comfortable board. That’s not to say this board is only for beginners, as many veterans, especially on the Original team kill in on this deck. I’m sure they would all recommend this as much as I do. The PK nose-guards helped increase the pop of the tail and prolonged the life for flip tricks. The diamond drop was super comfy for slides.
